Wajir Exhibition Showcases Northern Kenya's Potential Ahead of June 1 Celebrations

WAJIR, Kenya – May 26, 2026 – The countdown to Kenya's 64th Madaraka Day celebrations has officially entered its final phase, as a week-long thematic exhibition opened today at Wagberi Primary School in Wajir Town.

Running from May 25 to May 31, 2026, the exhibition is a key build-up activity leading to the historic June 1 national celebrations, marking the first time Madaraka Day will be held in Northern Kenya.

Theme: Education, Skills, and the Future
This year's exhibition and the main Madaraka Day celebrations are being held under the theme "Education, Skills, and the Future". The thematic week is designed to engage the public through interactive displays, skills demonstrations, and educational showcases that highlight the government's commitment to youth empowerment and regional development.

"The preparations for the thematic week are complete, and we invite all residents and visitors to participate. This is an opportunity to see what Wajir and the nation have to offer in terms of skills development and future-oriented programmes," a government official involved in the coordination told our reporter.
